Those lovely days they are past away, And many a heart that then was gay Within the tomb now darkly dwells And no more to hears evening bells. And so it will be when I am gone, That tunefull sound will still ring on While other bards will walk these dells And sing your praise sweet evening bells. 저녁 종소리 저녁 종소리 내가 마지막으로 저 종소리를 들었을 때 젊은 시절과 고향의 달콤하 시간을 너희들은 얼마나 알고 있을까? 그 종소리는 사라지고 행복했던 지난 날들 그리고 그때는 많은 마음들이 행복했었지. 지금은 어둠의 무덤속에서 지내기에 더 이상 저녁 종소리를 들을수 없네. 내가 이 세상을 떠날 때도 그러하겠지. 음악이 가득한 저 종소리는 울릴 것이고 또 다른 시인들이 이 골짜기를 거닐며 너희를 칭송하고, 아름다운 저녁 종소리들, 저녁 종소리 저녁 종소리 내가 마지막으로 저 종소리를 들었을 때 젊은 시절과 고향의 달콤하 시간을 너희들은 얼마나 알고 있을까?.
