Barry McGuire 의 Biography 무명시절 Barry McGuire의 Backing vocal로 일했던 The Mamas & Papas는 Debut Album "If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears"를 발표했다. Michelle Phillips의 관능적인 Vocal intro에 기타 독주가 뒷받침되어 Pop Record 사상 가장 기억될만한 Opening으로 남아있는 이 Album에서 Barry McGuire의 크Remake 한 "California Dreamin"이 US chart #5위, 풍부한 Harmony가 돋보이는 "Monday Monday"가 US No. #1을 기록하며 The Mamas & Papas는 화려하게 Debut 한다. 1965년 Barry McGuire는 당시의 사회상을 신랄하게 그린 "파멸 전양- Eve of Destruction"을 발표했다. 이 노래는 너무 저항적이고 급진적이라고 해서 방송을 금지하는 곳이 많았음에도 Chart # 1위에 올랐다. 그리고 당시 학생운동의 대포적인 노래로 떠올랐다. 이 노래 이후 Barry McGuire는 질적인 도약을 했다. 1973년 Barry McGuire는 "씨앗 - Seeds"이라는 첫 Christian Album을 냈다.
