when you ask someone Where are you off to? you simply asking them Where are you going?
Where are you off to?는 ‘어디 가는 길입니까?’라는 뜻입니다.
보통 Where are you going? Where are you heading?이라는 표현을 많이 쓰지만, 여러분도 다음에는 한 번 ‘where are you off to? where are you off to? 라고 해보세요.
In today’s conversation,
when Jason asks me where I am off to, I tell him that I am off to the gym. In this case, Jason is simply asking me WHERE I am going. I then answer him by saying, “I’m off to the gym.” Which means “I’m GOING to the gym.”
